ADHD assessments

We conduct ADHD assessments for school-aged children, adolescents and adults. Our team is experienced in identifying ADHD among different genders and at different stages of life. Our ADHD assessments are affirming of neurodiversity and offer a detailed profile of individual strengths and challenges. This information is designed to support individuals, their family, and their school or workplace environments in understanding and accommodating their unique needs.

What is an ADHD assessment

ADHD assessments focus on exploring an individual’s developmental background, educational and occupational experiences, attention and concentration levels, social skills, peer interactions and interests. ADHD assessments also take into account the individual’s unique strengths and areas where they may face difficulties, seeking to understand the underlying reasons for these challenges. In the process of an ADHD assessment, information is gathered from the individual, as well as from family members and schools where relevant, to gain a comprehensive view of the person’s functioning and how they navigate various aspects of their life.

The benefits of an ADHD assessment

An assessment provides information to assist individuals to understand why they may have been experiencing difficulties with concentration, impulsivity and restlessness. An assessment can provide self-awareness and validate personal experiences by providing an understanding of why an individual may find some tasks and activities more difficult than others. It can help by providing an explanation for difficulties which may have previously been misunderstood.

This understanding can then help families, schools and workplaces to support the individual by helping put structures and strategies in place to assist and in doing so support more effective communication.
